You have a budget & found your builder so now comes the fun part of designing your home! When you are at design stage there are a few main things you need to think about. Are you building a home that you plan on selling in the next 5 or so years or is this your forever home? Is energy efficiency & solar orientation important to you? What are your must haves? When thinking about your design it’s also important to remember that your home should flow seamlessly from the front right through to the back so consider the look you are going for inside & out.
As for the house plan itself any good builder will have a range of plans for you to use as a starting point but will sit down and draw a plan just for you to suit your needs, lifestyle & budget. Sometimes it may take a couple of designs to get the plan perfect but that’s the luxury of building a fully customized home from scratch you can tweak the plan until its perfect. As for internal design & selections remember that a home once complete is for living in so you want it to look great but also be practical at the same time & once you move it you can continue to add your own style and personality with furnishings and styling.
Perfection is not achieved when there is nothing more to add but when there is nothing left to take away.
