BUILDING A NEW HOME – TIME FRAMES

When people are looking to build a new home they are quite often surprised by the time frames, however not always is that a good surprise.

Any good builder will have tried & proven processes to ensure that the time frame of our build doesn’t blow out. When doing your research while in the ‘selecting a builder’ phase make sure one of the questions you ask the builder is what time frame you can expect and when talking to their past clients make sure your ask them if the time frame they were given was meet.

If your builder has a great crew working under their guidance and excellent organisation skills you will find that there will be progression on your build most weeks with minimal time delays through until completion. The size of your home and selections as well individual circumstances & environmental factors will determine your time frame but any good builder will be able to give you a close estimate of how long your build will take from start of construction to handover in the initial stages of planning.
The planning and initial stages time frames varies from case to case, but to help insure the planning time is kept minimal make sure you have done plenty of research before going into your planning meeting. Once you do receive concept plans back it is very important to sit down and have a really good look and try and pick up most of the changes early, we usually suggest that you should have your final plans nutted out within the first couple of concepts. Again any good builder with sit down and help you through this process.

Building a new home is a big process which can be made very enjoyable and simple with the right processes in place.
