THAT’S A WRAP – THE BLOCK 2019

The Oslo was the biggest challenge that had ever been thrown at the contestants on The Block and at times it looked way too big!  Last night the Block Finale aired for 2019.

At the beginning of last nights finale, the reserves for all five properties were revealed at $2,990,000. The auction results were all very positive with all 5 properties selling at auction and each team walking away with a large amount of money.

As well as a shock win for the youngest block stars in history, Tess and Luke, the self proclaimed Queensland Cane Toads, who won The Block 2019 proving they were the ultimate underdogs. Despite almost not finishing at one point, Tess and Luke’s property sold for $3,620,000, making them a profit of $630,000. With the addition of the $100K winners bonus, last night they took home a whopping $730,000.

El’ise and Matt came in second, with their property selling for $460,000 over the reserve price.

The contestants coming in third, were non other than the fan favorites Andy and Deb. Last night taking home $430,000.

Jessie and Mel came in fourth with a total profit of $388,000.

Which meant that Mitch and Mark came in last, taking home $384,000. This came as a bit of a shock, with the judges pinning them as the front runners all season.

Collectively the total take home from this season of The Block was a massive $2,392,000. And everyone can agree that, that amount of money is life changing.

If you think you have got what it takes to be on The Block, casting for the 2020 season is now open! No renovation experience is required and shooting is to begin in late January 2020.

There has been no confirmation yet of what the blockheads of 2020 will be tackling but producers have said that it will not be as big as the Oslo.
