COLOUR SELECTIONS

Colours is one part of the building process that people can find the most stressful part of the build, but it is something that should be a fun process. If the colour selection process is simple & done with a colour consultant this will make for a much more enjoyable process (they have a keen eye for what works together). Again Research, research, research, you have already sat down and designed your house plan so you have a firm idea of the style that you have decided on there for the colours you select should continue on from there to keep the seamless flow and style of the home. Look around online and in person for inspiration & ideas on what colours & textures you do & don’t like. Create something like a mood board or album on you tablet or smart phone that you can show to your colour consultant what you like and what your wanting to achieve. Making all your colour selections at one time will help insure the cohesiveness of the selections and design. Visiting an in-house selection center which provides a range of different products and standards is a great way to be able to select all your colours at one time, without having to run all over town & hope that what you picked at the tile store will match the paint colour for example. Lay everything out together that you have selected, that way it is easy to see how everything works together, you can swap things out, try different shades & textures etc until you are happy with everything you have selected.
Keep in mind that when making colour that these are the main internal & external linings & fixtures in your home so try and select something that will be somewhat timeless – you can add extra colour etc through soft furnishings & styling.
