Lighting & electrical is something that is often overlooked by people when building but it is such a big & important part of planning your home! Nothing is more frustrating then after the fact realizing that for example you don’t have a power point in a certain spot or that you don’t have a light two way switched that really should be. Little things like this can be addressed later down the track but it is SOOO much more cost effective and time effective to get this right before the walls are even sheeted. Any good builder & electrician will sit down with your final plans & allowances & plot out your electrical & lighting plan before the frames even go up. You should then be given the opportunity to sit down with your electrician and go through room by room & work out exactly where you would like your power points, data points, lighting etc & if you would like to add or move anything, because lets face it everybody lives differently there for every individuals needs & wants are different. By sitting down together & working out your plan at the start of the build means that everything can be wired up exactly to YOUR needs.
